Hey There! I'm Joel Reid, also known as Mr. Joel. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, musician, songwriter, and teacher offering relaxing, fun, and personalized music instruction for kids, teens, and adults in Vancouver.
I teach saxophone, guitar, piano, songwriting, music theory, and other woodwind instruments. Whether you're just getting started or looking to improve your skills, lessons are tailored to your individual goals and experience.
My goal is to share my knowledge and experience of music while helping students build confidence, become independent musicians, and enjoy making music!

Learning music should feel comfortable, encouraging, and enjoyable. My approach is influenced by the Montessori method, where I guide students rather than simply tell them what to do. I encourage students to explore, ask questions, and discover what interests them while developing their musical skills.
Every student learns differently, so I adapt lessons to their pace, interests, and goals. My aim is to give students the knowledge and confidence to become independent musicians while enjoying the process along the way.
